How to Turn off IDM Automatic Update Check
Step-1 Open Start Menu > Run OR Press Win+R on you keyboard to launch Run.
Step-2 After opening Registry Editor. Type “regedit” and hit OK.
Step-3 In Registry Editor, proceed as following: HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > DownloadManager

Step-4 Now Double click on the name “LstCheck” (it can be LastCheck for older IDM versions)

Step-5 Change the value to a future date as I did 01/01/80
Now it will ask for update on 1st January 2080

Step-6 Now Press OK, Close Registry Editor and Restart the PC.
